Singapore's AI Governance Framework Gets Updated

Singapore has unveiled an updated AI Governance Framework, introducing new guidelines for generative AI deployment and stricter requirements for high-risk AI systems. The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) announced that companies deploying AI in sensitive sectors must now conduct mandatory impact assessments before launch.

Industry leaders have welcomed the framework, noting that clear regulations will help build public trust while enabling innovation. The Singapore AI Governance Alliance has been expanded to include more small and medium enterprises.
