Singapore has unveiled an updated AI Governance Framework, introducing new guidelines for generative AI deployment and stricter requirements for high-risk AI systems. The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) announced that companies deploying AI in sensitive sectors must now conduct mandatory impact assessments before launch.
Key updates include:
- Generative AI Guidelines: New requirements for transparency in AI-generated content
- Sector-Specific Rules: Enhanced oversight for AI in healthcare, finance, and education
- Risk Tiers: A three-tier classification system for AI applications
- Audit Requirements: Annual AI system audits for high-risk deployments
